Appalachian Victuals Dinner October 24th Featuring Author Ronni Lundy and Chef Ian Boden
This special dinner will feature food based on Ronni Lundy's new book Victuals prepared by nationally renowned Chef Ian Boden, from Staunton, VA. Victual explores the people, foodways and recipes of the mountain south. Ronni will speak about her work on this subject. She received the Southern Foodways Alliance Craig Claiborne Life Time Achievement Award in 2009, and has been recognized for her work by Gourmet Magazine. She is a regular contributor to many publications.
Ian Boden is the chef/owner of The Shack in Staunton, VA which has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Esquire, Southern Living and Garden& Gun. He has been praised for his commitment to local sourcing and seasonal creations, relying on many heirloom products of the region. His incredible creativity will astound you.
This special event will support the work of the Appalachian Food Summit, which strives to preserve the foodways, traditions and recipes of Appalachia. Ronni is a founding member of the organization.
