Mishka Shubaly & Glenn Wool
Glenn Wool "Seeing Glenn Wool perform should be made compulsory for the melancholy. There's no way you won't feel a bit better about the world afterwards. Lethally funny" **** Metro
Critically acclaimed and internationally renowned Canadian comedian, Glenn hides a sharp intelligence behind apparently homespun humour, which hits the mark on a wide range of subjects from religious fundamentalism to current world politics in such a way that you hardly notice. As seen on 8 Out of 10 Cats, The World Stands Up, Edinburgh & Beyond, Russell Howard's Good News and more.
"Effortlessly funny with an affability that other comics can only dream of You have to go and see Glenn Wool" - The Guardian
"If Like me, you believe that nobody could be much funnier than a cross between Jack Black and Meat Loaf, then youll be pleased to learn that such a man exists" - The Independent on Sunday
Mishka Shubaly "The gruff and rough-voiced Shubaly is a chronicler of mankind's darkest impulses and failures, a guy with a ticket to hell and back" - Time Out New York
After receiving an expensive MFA in Fiction from Columbia University, Mishka Shubaly promptly realised he was more interested in playing music in dive bars than writing. He lived out of a Toyota minivan for a year, touring non-stop, and shared the stage with artists like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Decemberists among others.
He's become a cult favorite, opening nationally for comedy iconoclast Doug Stanhope, penning the soundtrack for The Unbookables documentary, headlining the Altercation Punk Comedy Tour, and touring with Pearl Jam fave Star Anna. Adrian Grenier played drums for a new single and Shubaly's most recent record "Coward's Path" has won praise from Johnny Depp and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, among others.
"We all have heroes. I would never want to imagine Tom Waits going to therapy or Bukowski running a 10k. In my heart, Mishka Shubaly will always be spilled over the bar next to me and playing on the jukebox of my soul." - Doug Stanhope
"Forever a favourite, sublime!" - Johnny Depp
