Something Old, Something New: THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN & INNERSPACE
The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) Student Chapter at UCLA cordially invites you to the fifth film event in our screening series, **SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW!**
Our intention with this series is to find the wonderful qualities in both classic and contemporary films and we invite the public to come along on this journey!
We've entitled this particular iteration, "SIZE MATTERS" based upon the fact that we will be showing two incredible pieces of cinema that center upon the certain physical dimensions of the central characters. If you've seen the films then you know what I mean. And no, this is not an inappropriate title, by any, um, stretch?
On Wednesday evening, August 22, we will be showing two amazing pieces of cinema and welcoming one of the most filmically incisive minds of our time: director, Joe Dante (schedule permitting).
Please join us at 7:30 for the Richard Matheson-penned (and if you are unfamiliar with Matheson, look him up) INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN and at 9:25 for Joe Dante's own, very spectacular, INNERSPACE.
We will be featuring prizes from both Wacko and the incomparable Warner Archive Collection, and, as always, both films are being offered for a very affordable cost, considering that some of the monies go to the very good cause of assisting student film archivists in their future endeavors!
So please join us! We're really excited about this!
It's the final SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW of the summer before school starts in again. Won't you come out?
****PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU BUY TICKETS FOR THE THURSDAY AUGUST, 23RD SHOW, THIS IS NOT THE NIGHT WITH GUESTS AND SPECIAL EVENT COVERAGE. THE DOUBLE FEATURE WILL STILL BE SHOWN, BUT 8/22 IS THE EVENING WITH THE "BIG BONUS" SO TO SPEAK!"****
