Slavyanka Russian Chorus Presents: "Return from Russia"
Dear Friends,
Save the date you wont want to miss this.
On Sunday, October 30th at 3PM, the Slavyanka Russian Chorus, just back from a two-week concert tour in Russia, will present a full program of Russian and American choral music music from the 1000 year old repertoire of the Russian Orthodox Church, spiritual songs, catchy Russian and Georgian folk songs -- and some of the best from Americas own choral traditions.
The Chorus will also share pictures and impressions from its two week stay in Russia:
*Its experiences of working with and performing with Russian choirs
*Its participation in a historic 150th anniversary celebration at Moscows Tchaikovsky Conservatory
*Its visits to old family estates of the Sheremetev family
...and what will undoubtedly be many conversations with Russians about life in Russia now.
After two weeks of singing together, the Chorus will be at its very best musically. Please come and join us for this very special Welcome Home! event!
Easy parking in the Star of the Sea school lot; enter through the 8th Avenue gate directly behind the church.
Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 at the door; children 11 and under are admitted free.
