With a wink to the past, Modern Vaudeville is a newer comedy, variety, music and talk show experience featuring the Twin Cities top performers. In November, the lineup will include comedian Jeff Pfoser, pole performer Myss Angie Lofquist, and musician Mike Michael. The variety show is produced and hosted by Midwest Emmy Award Winning comedian/magician David Harris.
Pole Performer Myss Angie Lofquist will be featured on this months show. Myss Angie is a dreamer that believes in helping empower women, strengthening the performing art community, and the partnership between bacon and peanut butter. She is a Minneapolis gal that gets her kicks working with community projects and performing around the Twin Cities solo and in the troupe Cirque du Pole. She can be found organizing events such as the Minnesota Regional Pole Competitions, Twin Cities Performing Art Convention and Festival, and the Shake, Rattle, n Pole Variety Show. Myss Angie also teaches and trains at a womens pole fitness studio, Knockout Bodies, in NE Minneapolis. Comedian Jeff Pfoser will appear on this lineup. A regular performer in Mexico's annual Akumal Comedy Festival and Minneapolis' 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, Pfoser was a finalist in the 2011 Rick Bronson's House of Comedy Funniest Person With a Day Job Contest and a finalist in the 2015 Joke Joint Comedy Club's Minnesota's Funniest Person Contest. Pfoser owns two minivans, enjoys top-shelf root beer and prefers eating breakfast food for dinner. A charismatic family man whose stories take surprise twists and turns, Pfoser walks the likeable-vs.-offensive tightrope with true panache, and his material will make you laugh or cringe (sometimes both).
Veteran musician Mike Michel will round out the bill. Mike is a Minnesota Music Academy award-winning modern guitarist, songwriter, arts program creator, and music educator who was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, developed his craft in Los Angeles, California, and now creates out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mike has shared his brand of outside the box guitar playing and composing with many diverse Minnesota artists like Haley Bonar, Carnage, The Unknown Prophets and Dave King. Hes also known in the Northland for fronting his groove group, Mike Michel & Universal Co-op. Mikes other passions are creating community arts programs and being a music coach. Mike will be launching a new recording and music campaign 2017 called On The Mend in collaboration with Think Piece Publishing.
