Jon Shain and FJ Ventre Jan. 21 @ Forty Acres
On Saturday, January 21, 2017, Forty Acres is very happy to welcome to the Five Oaks stage a collaboration of two very talented artists, Jon Shain and FJ Ventre.
Jon is a veteran singer-songwriter who has been turning heads for years with his lyrics, fiery acoustic guitar work and distinct musical style- combining improvised piedmont blues with bluegrass, swing and ragtime.
For decades, he has toured solo and with folk/rock bands and recorded numerous live and studio albums, working with luminaries such as Dave Mattacks, Tom Dube and Chris Stamey, and recently released a duet album with Joe Newberry, who you may remember when he was here.
FJ is a master bass player and vocalist, sharing his talents with many popular bands over the last several years, including the Swang Brothers, Mary Johnson Rockers and the Spark, The Chris Stamey Group, Rebecca and the Hi-Tones and Matt Hill. His virtuosity in country, rockabilly and blues makes FJ a much sought after sideman in the studio and on stage.
Jon and FJ actually began playing music together in high school and have recently been working together on new material that beautifully combines the great abilities of these fine musicians.
Check out the video's on YouTube, some mighty fine ones. https://youtu.be/UQS8ly8eBe4 https://youtu.be/ObhVDf5JiBk
