Minibeast, Cushing, Haru Bangs, Crystal Canyon
Minibeast, the brainchild of Peter Prescott (Mission of Burma, Volcano Suns), makes their Portland debut alongside a stellar mix of local heavies. Minibeast is a genre-bending, largely instrumental, soundscape-experience that mixes elements of surf, psych, punk, easy-listening, 60s childrens music, and soundtrack music. Sharing the bill will be the head-trippin' rhythmic-overload assault of Haru Bangs, the pop-injected shoegaze tidal-wave of Crystal Canyon (ft. members of The Baltic Sea and Tiger Bomb), and the self-described "Cold War paranoid nostalgia with an acid hangover" of noisy post-punks Cushing.
