Comedy After the Fall
Manhattan Comedy Collective, the city's only nonprofit comedy production company, unites elements of its popular Big Bang series with Henry & Stein, a Waiting for Guffman-inspired talent show, for four nights only at Emerging Artists Theatre. This joint production is the first-ever Comedy After the Fall showcase, where ten bucks gets you admission to three acts! Each night features Henry & Stein's wacky talent show, flanked by two different encore performances from The Big Bang.
These crowd-pleasers include a solo show by Jen MacNeil, Wonder Boy (Nov. 7), which introduces you to a talented boy soprano on the verge of fame. Also on Nov. 7, audiences can throw suggestions at the new personalities in Character Dog Run, and watch 'em improvise like unleashed pooches. The short play Dog Lovers (Nov. 13, 20) returns after an extended, two-month run at The Big Bang. Then, get ready for some improvised teenage angst with The NYC (Nov. 13). Nov. 14 brings two more improv acts: Devils Dancebelt followed by Stacy & Who?, in which improv veteran Stacy Mayer invites Upright Citizens Brigade collaborator Amy Goerlich to be another of her many Who? guests. Finally, The Modern Kids (Nov. 20) reprise the sketch comedy set that drew sold-out crowds to October's Big Bang.
