Theatre at Granite Bay Presents: Macbeth
Theatre at Granite Bay presents William Shakespeare's Macbeth, staged in the world of modern politics. Additionally, the role of Macbeth will be played by both a male and a female, alternating each performance.
Macbeth, an ambitious politician, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he/she will become King. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his/her spouse, Macbeth does what is necessary to seize the throne. Macbeth becomes wracked with guilt and paranoia, and forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself/herself. Macbeth soon becomes a tyrannical ruler, and the bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take him/her into the realms of madness and death.
