Peter Mulvey
Over the past 20 years, Peter Mulvey has pursued a restless, eclectic path as a writer and musician - immersing himself in Tin Pan Alley jazz, modern acoustic, poetry, narrative, and Americana stylings. He has also shared the stage with luminaries such as Emmylou Harris, Richard Thompson, Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, and Greg Brown, and has attracted an audience that stretches from Anchorage to Amsterdam. His latest CD, The Good Stuff (Signature Sounds) features a collection of "standards," if we lived in a strange country where Duke Ellington, Tom Waits, Jolie Holland, and Melvern Taylor were all considered writers of standards. Opening tonight's show is singer-songwriter Jacob Moon of Hamilton, Ontario. Ron Sexsmith calls Moon, "an exceedingly gifted and watchable performer." His inspiring lyrics, influenced by musical heroes such as Jackson Browne, Paul Simon, and Peter Gabriel, blend with creative, deft guitar work that utilizes live looping to create truly impressive soundscapes.
