Two Weekends Only! Le Frenchword Presents "Fancy Mud" at West of Lenin.
"These three Seattle-based performers put on a show of sheer, exhilarating, absurdist joy" - 4 Stars, CBC Manitoba

Seattle's' own absurdist trio will be back from Canadian fringe festivals for a special two week run at West of Lenin in Fremont neighborhood! Don't miss the last chance to catch this critically acclaimed original show before the three fools hit the road for West Coast tour in Winter.

WHAT IS "FANCY MUD"?

Improvisations and free-writing on various themes, musical jamming sessions, and just being plain stupid in the acting studio; result="Fancy Mud." The show examines the origins of the universe, the cycle of life, cell phones, bunnies, California Cute Cult, The Last Lame Three-Legged Dying Cow among others through stories, monologues, music and movement.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT "FANCY MUD"

" " Fancy Mud," is one of the best performances I have ever seen, not just in Seattle, but in London and New York as well. What makes it so impressive is a combination of features: originality; conceptual sophistication; comedy that is, by turns, sly and surreal; philosophical subtlety; and, throughout, the three performers' dazzling energy...The show's elegant structureand a great deal of its meaninglies in its desultory progress from randomness to significance...Those who just want to laugh will enjoy the individual vignettes of "Fancy Mud," which combine scathing wit and deft physical comedy. Those interested in pushing the boundaries of performance will appreciate the show's associative structure, in which words such as "singularity" link disparate scenes, not into unity, but into a kind of theatrical dialectic. And those who turn to art for understanding, as well as pleasure, will be fascinated by the heuristic energies of "Fancy Mud." "
- Laura King, Former Sarai Ribicoff Assistant Professor, Departments of English and Theater Studies, Yale University

"These three Seattle-based performers put on a show of sheer, exhilarating, absurdist joy...with a combination of perfectly-choreographed and beautifully-executed physical comedy, music and dialogue that is smart, bizarre, and full of laugh-out-loud moments of surprise and delight, they take on everything from the origins of the universe to cell phones, inviting the audience to appreciate and experience the ridiculousness of the world we live in - or the world we believe we live in."

"I haven't seen anything this deeply, unapologetically off-the-wall in this city in a while...If you're game to think on some puzzling moments of beauty and weirdness, think about Fancy Mud." - John E. Allis, Seattlest, read more here http://seattlest.com/2011/09/17/le_frenchword_fancy_mud.php

"The perfect pitch of humor and horror are spun to tasty perfection. Cheeky, demented, prolific, fiber-optic smart. This is an act of the purist theater. These three are purveyors of magic and are under-the-radar super stars."

"It's like a well-acted Three Stooges routine, plumped up on pretension and massive amounts of processed sugar....Weird clown theater doesn't get much more charming than this."- The Stranger
