The Onion Twins
The Onion Twins is a new modern dance opera based on a Swedish folktale that spins the strange and devilish tale of a medieval fertility experiment gone awry.
Two years in the making, this narrative work is a tightly-woven collaboration by Seattle artists. Original libretto by writer Rebecca Brown (2005 Stranger Genius Award Winner), music by composer Michael Katell, choreography and design by Alex Martin, and lighting design by Ben Zamora.
A dance ensemble of five women takes center stage, and singers, narration, a live chamber orchestra, and surprise guest performers activate the imagination for an opera experience stripped to its core.
Families are welcome - there's a special kids ticket price on Sundays! (We recommend the show for ages 7 and up, or younger kids if they are brave).
