Divorciadas, Evangelicas, y Vegetarianas / Divorcees, Evangelicals and Vegetarians
Sunday, August 26 at 5 pm, Teatro de las Américas will present "Divorciadas, evangélicas, y vegetarianas / Divorcees, Evangelicals, and Vegetarians".
Synopsis: What do you get when you mix a divorcee, evangelist, and a vegetarian? A comedy about life lessons, friendship, women's sexuality, and drama, lots of drama. Follow these three women in on an emotional roller coaster as they search to find what's really important in life.
"Ott's works have been widely produced both in Venezuela and internationally to critical and public acclaim, making his work 'indispensable...for any anthology of Venezuelan theater'. [He is a] regular participant in international theater festivals. As an author he states: 'you have to write for the world, not just your corner of it.'" The play is directed by Roberto Sánchez. It stars, Rosie Rodríguez (the Divorcee), Iriany Sánchez (the Evangelical), and Juliana Acosta (the Vegetarian).
The play is staged in Spanish with English supertitles. It has adult content and is not appropriate for children.
Tickets $15 general admission, $10 seniors and students are available online, at Curious Cup Bookstore (929 Linden Avenue in Carpinteria) and at the theater box office.
