The Invisible Children Tour with Bearcat and The Rocketboys, also featuring The Marshall Brown Band
Throughout her life,Renee Yohehas always believed in the value of telling her story. The platforms have changed from social media, to books, to public speaking engagements, and most recently a film based on her life.
Renee first entered the public spotlight with To Write Love On Her Arms, a non-profit organization that aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury and thoughts of suicide. Through it all, music has always played a crucial and stabilizing role in Renee's life.
Now, her eclectic talents and triumphant experiences create a compellingly notable project with BEARCAT, "...a sweeping tribute to soulin all its respects." ~ Purevolume
On their recent recordings, THE ROCKETBOYS - originally a sextet of college friends from Abilene, TX - perfectly married themes of unity and brotherhood with rich, soaring rock, lifting the band to national critical acclaim. The band supported its releases with lengthy tours and multiple festival appearances.
Almost inevitably though the rigors of the road took their toll, eventually rupturing the band's momentum in the winter of 2010-11. The resulting hiatus and initial hurdles of rebuilding began to give way to new-found inspiration. The end result is their third album,Build Anyway, released this past June.
The album chronicles the emotions through the brokenness in abandonment to the search for peace and closure, both personally and musically."What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway."- Kent Keith (made famous by Mother Teresa)
