Momentum 2012 presented by Los Angeles Movement Arts
Los Angeles Movement Arts (LAMA) will be presenting its annual dance performance, MOMENTUM, at the Martha B. Knoebel Theater on the campus of California State University, Long Beach on September 15th and 16th. The performance will be a shared evening of works by five choreographers -- Nguyen Nguyen, Mandarin Wu, Ashley Dragon, Da Xu, Heyward Bracey and Jim Tsou. MOMENTUM presents an exciting look at cutting-edge choreography that reflects the LAMA artists' unique vision and passions. By drawing on their individual cultural backgrounds and embracing a contemporary approach, the five choreographers of LAMA utilize a variety of movement, multimedia technology, and visual design to push their artistic boundaries and present work that reexamines notions of performance, identity, history, and culture.
