It's getting grisly at Caffe Lena! Ghosts, Jack O' Lanterns, Scarecrows, pshaw! Caffe Lena is going for blood and guts.
It's time for our second annual Halloween fundraiser, "A Night of Murder Ballads." Sounds scary, but it's actually just good, gory fun, with regional folk favorites singing about dead lovers, deceased drifters, and decomposing ne'er-do-wells who done been stretched for their dirty deeds. America loves a scandal and some selections are actual accounts of 19th century crimes and 20th century misdeeds delivered with 21st century panache. Others are just cool songs about folks getting whacked for one reason or another.
Special desserts and other treats await you, and, all tricks aside, the proceeds will benefit Caffe Lena so we can keep bringing you the finest folk year round.

* The Vinyard's "cranky" is an amazing work of folk art. It's a 26-foot scrolling quilt that depicts the story of an original, true murder ballad about the death of Peter Hauser. This spectacle is not to be missed!
