Handel's Messiah, the Opéra-Ballet
Ballet Bellevue's premiere of Handel's Messiah as an opéra-ballet is coming to Bellevue's Theatre at Meydenbauer Center in December 2012! This unique production is designed to bring ballet and opera together on the same stage. Following the success of two ballet companies on the East Coast, Ballet Bellevue is excited to host the Northwest premiere of this extraordinary work as an opera-ballet. It will feature original choreography by Eastside native Sayoko Knode which will highlight the strengths of our company dancers and singers. This performance will be accompanied by a live orchestra and will feature our guest conductor, Dr. Linda Gingrich. Because Ballet and Opera each have such large yet distinct audiences, we hope that this production will bring people in our community together in their love for the performing arts, challenging them to experience and fall in love with something new.
