Event
Pam & Bob Ortiz and band at Cellar Stage
Opening: The Honey Dewdrops
Pam Ortiz is that rare songwriter who can touch people where they feel deeply, where they laugh and where they cry. She did that for 10 years with the group Terra Nova in the '90s playing to packed coffee houses in the Baltimore/Washington area. Her songs were showcased in the three albums that the vocal group recorded. For the past 12 years she has devoted herself to raising her children, family, and work. Now, with a slew of new songs, a new album due out in early summer 2012, the accompaniment of a few old and new friends, Pam's back with new songs, new stories... with her signature clear voice, turn of phrase and melody... songs that speak of who we are, what we've won and lost, how we love and live.
She will be accompanied by her husband Bob Ortiz on vocals, percussion and keyboard and their band: Ford Schumann - lead guitar; Nevin Dawson - viola and violin; and Mike Buccino - electric and acoustic bass.
The Honey Dewdrops are the Virginia-based roots duet of Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish. During the past four years of touring full-time and playing for audiences across America, The Honey Dewdrops' down-to-earth, real-life approach to music has touched audiences broadly and brought them to high profile stages such as A Prairie Home Companion and gained them Folk Radio notoriety with two #1 albums.
Doors open at 7:00 pm. General admission seating.
