Eliane Elias in concert - presented by Gualala Arts
Gualala Arts presents Eliane Elias in concert on Saturday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Coleman auditorium.
"Eliane Elias, the internationally acclaimed and award-winning vocalist, pianist, composer and arranger from São Paulo, Brazil, has for years topped my list of choices for a Gualala Arts concert," said music coordinator Fred Adler. Now, at last, this dream becomes reality in a glittering merger of both the Gualala Arts Jazz Series and the Global Harmony Series.
Eliane's uniquely low key, natural and intoxicating musical style, beauty, sensuality, ebullience and charisma fills major concert halls from Paris to Tokyo and from New York City to San Francisco. She will soon grace the Coleman Auditorium stage on Saturday, October 20, here on the Mendocino Coast, along with her stellar trio of musicians: Rubens De La Corte, guitar; Marc Johnson, bass; and Rafael Barata, drums, as a part of her 2012 world concert tour. And, yes, Eliane does perform her dazzling, joyous, swinging and delicate piano / vocal stylings in barefoot!
As an early associate of Brazil's bossa nova legend Antônio Carlos Jobim, Eliane specializes in this lilting style of music. Jazz, pop, contemporary and even classical are also her trademarks. Additionally she will engage the audience briefly with a few words about her native country, Brazil, in honor of the Gualala Arts Global Harmony Series.
Eliane Elias is truly an authentic global music celebrity not to be missed! For more information: visit ElianeElias.com.
This concert is presented in association with Fred Adler, KTDE 100.5 FM, who will be the emcee, and is partially underwritten by North Coast Brewing Company.
"To be honest, I would prefer to see Eliane Elias, even over the marvelous Diana Krall!" - Chris Doering, Mendocino Coast guitarist.
A no-host martini bar including traditional Brazilian cocktails will be available.
Advance tickets are $28 for adults, $14 for youth (7-17), $5 more on the day of the performance. To purchase in person, visit the Gualala Arts Center or Dolphin Gallery in Gualala.
