Jet Black Pearl (Artist formally known as Yeti)
This French chanteuse is a one-woman dynamo from the Netherlands whose performances have been described as "a cabaret gypsy party where Nina Hagen, Edith Piaf and Kurt Weill meet." Singing in three languages (English, French and Dutch) and accompanying herself on a multitude of instruments (including accordion, flute, toy piano and music box), she delivers fanciful, offbeat songs about forbidden love between a subway rat and a train engineer, the amorous adventures of a hermaphrodite mollusk, and possibly even a Michael Jackson cover. http://www.myspace.com/yetila
From deserts to dance halls, Torch singer Tara Linda and her Tortilla Western Trio, play original jazzy blues and Latin torch. With her penchant for wild west cabaret, Tara plays a diverse mix of styles from traditional Tex-Mex and train songs, to vintage jazz. A composer and multi-instrumentalist, Tara writes original music for the accordion- cumbias, waltzes, tangos, and rancheras- and sings with a voice described as "sultry...and mesmerizing" SF Chronicle; Oakland Tribune/San Jose Mercury News). Perfect for lizards and lounge lizards alike. http://www.taralinda.com
Amber Lee Baker (aka Amber Lee and the Anomalies) performs original songs which range between bawdy cabaret, melodious folk ballads, gypsy tunes and soulful spirituals. A recent review of her new album 'Indelible' by the blog Sepiachord states: "...while Amber Lee wields an accordion she could just as well be rolling out her tunes from behind a piano keyboard. Eccentric choice in instrument and snazzy costume choices aside, Amber Lee is talented singer-songwriter. *That* is what makes her new CD, "Indelible", a recording that rewards repeated listens." She has been extensively touring the US since 2009, and toured Ireland, Germany and Spain in 2010. You can listen to her music and learn more at: www.amberleeandtheanomalies.com
Renee de la Prade (Zydeco Celtic Roots Rock) fuses rock-n-roll, Cajun music, Blues, French and Irish tunes into her own exciting, boot-stomping show. She rocks a mini Irish diatonic squeezebox with a custom bass system she installed herself. She repairs, sells, and teaches accordion at Smythe's Accordion Center in Oakland, CA. Catch her with the Americana Cajun trio Whiskey & Women or performing solo in venues around the world. RenÄ—e is the mastermind behind the Accordion Babes Pin-Up Calendar.
