Brown Bag Blind Tasting: Series #3
Better Beer Society proudly presents a unique tasting event: Brown Bag Blind Tasting Series #3. A Trip to Belgium.
This is the third event in a series of blind tasting events all designed to challenge and educate your palate. Our aim is to get you thinking and talking about the aromas and flavors that you are experiencing, as well as get rid of any preconceptions one may have about certain beer styles.
This time we're taking you to Belgium...quite literally (well, one or two of you anyway).
We have partnered with our friends at Republic to bring you 25 hand-chosen, special taps and bottles to introduce your senses to the flavors of Belgium.
Our goal with this series, is to educate and celebrate the centuries old tradition of Trappist and Abbey ales from this wonderful brewing country, who has inspired many American breweries and helped shape who we are as a brewing nation today.
Join us for a panel of special guest speakers as well as Belgian style cuisine paired throughout the day with each course allowing you to experience a small taste of visiting abroad.
However, one lucky winner is going to experience the real thing.
Better Beer Society and Duvel USA are giving away (2) round-trip tickets to Belgium accompanied with organized brewery tours and expert travel advice.
We will be featuring mini-blind tasting and other sampling events leading up to BB#3 over the course of the next several weeks.

For every featured Duvel USA product purchased, you will receive a raffle ticket, good for your chance(s) to win the Grand Prize trip!
No limit on raffle tickets, but winner MUST purchase a ticket to the Brown Bag Series #3 event, and be present to win, so purchase those tickets early to qualify...this will sell out!
Throughout the course of the main event, you will receive a number of blind tasters that will be broken up into 4 separate categories.
Learning about Belgian beers and their culture, one must learn about Belgian cuisine and how serious they take their beer. They don't pair beers with their food; they pair their food with their beers.
Each segment will continue to feature unique small plates, each designed to accentuate the flavors in both the food and the beers chosen for the event.
You will be encouraged to take notes, and given score cards to fill in your guess as to what each beer style is. Bonus points for actual beers named!
Once we do the big reveal at the end of the session, the person with the most points will win a separate (but very cool) prize package!
