Big Draw - Discover Drawing

The Big Draw Chicago is a community engagement initiative that brings Chicagoans together to draw, think, and share. The initiative takes shape as a month-long festival of nearly 30 informal drawing programs throughout the city. 2012 is the inaugural year for an event which originated in the UK and now takes place in dozens of cities around the world. Loosetooth.com & Catalyst Ranch

From the lifelong sketcher to the drawing-phobic, all are welcome at this hands-on workshop to discover new ways of looking at and using drawing. The festival's Resident Drawing Ambassador, Brandy Agerbeck, shares the Draw Quad, a model to broaden your definition of drawing. She'll guide you through a series of accessible drawing exercises you can take back to your workroom, classroom or boardroom. The unexpected, inspiring environment of Catalyst Ranch will break down barriers and provide creative sparks to ignite (or re- ignite) your love of drawing and reclaim it as a thinking, communication and problem-solving tool.
