Weaving Native American Plateau Art into the Fabric of Spokane: A Town Hall Event
Artist Trust, in partnership with Gonzaga University's Department of Fine Art, Native American Studies, and the Public Humanities Center, will host a Town Hall event to explore ways in which art and public art can make Indigenous peoples of the Columbia Plateau (both past and present) more visible in Spokane. The event will feature a panel discussion and lots of Q&A surrounding an issue unique to Spokane's creative economy. Panelists will include Spokane City Council President Ben Stuckart, CarylDene Swan (CDA Tribe), local artist Jeff Ferguson, as well as Leanne Campbell, Historic Preservation Program Manager and Curator for Coeur d'Alene Tribe.
