Blueridge Chamber Fest Presents: Kyoko Hashimoto
Magnetic Japanese pianist Kyoko Hashimoto has performed at major halls the world over, including Wigmore Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Concertgebouw. She has appeared at festivals such as the Prague Spring Festival, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival, and the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Ruggiero Ricci, Mischa Maisky, Steven Isserlis, Patrick Gallois, Anthony Marwood, Regis Pasquier, and Matt Haimovitz. She has also made more than a dozen CD recordings, spanning the repertoire from Bach to Bartok to Blumenfeld.
Hashimoto studied at the International Menuhin Music Academy and the Juilliard School, and is currently Professor of Piano and Piano Area Chair at McGill University. First prize winner of the Concours International de Musique Française and the Concours Musical de France, she has he served on the jury of international competitions such as the Gina Bachauer International Piano Artists Competition, the Montreal International Piano Competition and the YAMAHA Benelux Competition.
