Ariel Ensemble
Performing extensively in Northern California under the Chamber Music Society of Sacramento, the Ariel Ensemble has received many local awards and grants.The ensemble recently won the highest commissioning grant from Chamber Music America. Their recording of Jazz Quartet by Meyer Kupferman received a rave review by Fanfare magazine. Bay Area performances include Midsummer Mozart series, Other Minds Festival, Noontime Concerts, Music on the Hill series, the Tahoe Chamber Music Society series, the Music Now series, and Wet Ink. For Music on the Hill, they will be performing a concert of Russian music by Glière, Shostakovich, Borodin and Rubtsov.
Performers are William Barbini and Kineko Okumura, violins; Paul Ehrlich, viola; Victoria Ehrlich, cello/flute; Mathew Krejci, flute.
