Upcycled Books with Guest Artist Bel
You have a wealth of book making materials passing through your home every day, often ending up in the trash. In this class, book artist Bel Mills shows you how to transform cereal boxes, junk mail, and other forgotten household paper products into clever, useful books with a few easy bookbinding techniques. Students will make mini notebooks for jotting down ideas, and a wallet-sized book filled pockets for stashing receipts, tickets, business cards or ephemera. Both novice and intermediate book makers welcome. Collage techniques will also be discussed.
PLEASE BRING: 5 junk mail reply envelopes of similar size, 2 cereal boxes, awl, metal ruler, pencil, craft knife, brayer or old credit card, self-healing cutting mat, corner rounder (optional), bone folder (optional).
