October 2016 LAI Luncheon
Five LAI members recently participated in a ULI San Francisco Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) to brainstorm potential improvements to BARTs TOD development solicitation and management processes. BART owns a significant number of land parcels near or adjacent to its stations which are suitable for development or redevelopment. BART is interested in attracting a wider range of qualified developers and asked ULI for assistance. The TAP convened local real estate professionals to spend a day discussing potential improvements to the processes and then presented the list to BART. The results can help to inform how BART and other public agencies select developers in the future. The Golden Gate chapter of LAI funded the TAP through a grant to ULI.
The TAP chair (Bob Lalanne), a panelist (Jeffrey Heller) and BART (Sean Brooks, Director of Real Estate and Property Development) will discuss the TAP recommendations and BARTs potential implementation plans, moderated by Faye Beverett of Bard Consulting. Please join us. ** Please note due to schedules, this luncheon will be held on the 3rd WEDNESDAY of the month **
