THE COPLA MUSICAL - Alejandro Postigo
A young man sets out on a journey of self-acceptance, inspired by the remarkable story of drag artist La Gitana who escaped from Francos dictatorship to perform her passion-filled Spanish folk music in America. This solo cabaret shares the passion and subversion of Spanish Copla with an international audience exploring what it takes to come to terms with who you are born to be.
Copla reminds me of who I am, where I come from, and I still wonder if thats where I belong. Copla has always been available for gays in need, it became the expression of a Spain to dream about.
