Ultraviolet Hippopotamus wsg. Secretary of Space :: Inside The MItten Vol. 2.1
Born out of the lakeshore city of Muskegon, Inside the Mitten is a concert showcase of Michigan-based musical acts. Inside the Mitten was created by Watermark Live with concerts held at Watermark 920.
Watermark Live's "Inside the Mitten" Concert series is designed to expose the artists who put their experiences of these peninsulas to music. Through a structured, moderated discussion the Michigan-based artists that perform will expound on every facet of what it has taken them to get where they are. Artists are not chosen based on genre, rather they are chosen because they exhibit rare potential. Each concert is unique and makes for a diverse series of shows. Past musical acts ranged from dub step DJ's to folk favorites and hometown legends. The first season of the concert series was an instantaneous success with sell-out shows that featured intimate Concerts with: The Crane Wives, Ida's Rope, Homeless Poet, 5iveit, Chantron, Funktion, Charlie Slick and Thunda Clap, Four Finger Five.
Support Michigan-based artists who take pride in the state by sharing it from the stage. The second season promises more of the same with the fall series featuring:

Inside the Mitten consists of a single moderated set from the opening act and two sets from the featured act. The first set is a discussion between our moderator and the act interlaced in between the songs that tell their story. For the second set, the audience is encouraged to get to know the musical acts by submitting questions to the moderator who presents them to the bands in between songs. Each show makes for a unique set of questions and answers ranging from the prolific to the spontaneous and often hilarious. Each concert is an intimate setting where concert goers have a great night out celebrating Michigan through music and Michigan made beer/wine as they get to know the bands and the stories behind their music.

Ultraviolet Hippopotamus is an explosive five-piece progressive improvisational band with a rapidly growing fan base across the U.S. and, more recently, Europe.
