Israeli peace activist/author Miko Peled
Israeli peace activist/author Miko Peled will present from his riveting new memoir, "The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine." In 1997, tragedy struck Miko Peled's Israeli-American family--when his beloved niece Smadar was killed by a suicide bomber in Jerusalem, pushing him to examine many beliefs he grew up with, as the son and grandson of leading figures in Israel's political-military elite. His book provides an intimate window into the fears that haunt both Israelis and Palestinians, while also showing the courage of those who pursue a steadfast grassroots struggle for equality for all the residents of Palestine and Israel. From Alice Walker's Foreward to Miko's book: "There are few books on the Israel/Palestine issue that seem as hopeful to me as this one."
