Special Relationships
Special Relationships explores different meanings of home and belonging, the way our loyalties and allegiances shift over time. Chris Fogg recalls his own northern, working-class childhood growing up through the 50's and 60's, trawling our collective past to shine a particular light on more recent events from both sides of the Atlantic, as well as from other 'lost empires' in India and Africa. These 'special relationships' are both personal and political, individual and shared, and are shot through with a strong narrative drive. What ultimately emerges is a kind of hard won innocence measured out across the years.
