Bob DeMaris at the Comedy Gallery
Bob DeMaris is now the proud and befuddled, father to a 20
year old son, who has left home for college, and a 14 year old girl who came into his life in a crate marked "Tasmania!"
Bob DeMaris was born and raised on "da Range", Minnesota's iron mining Mecca in the Arrowhead
Region of the state. His biggest complaints used to be about adjusting to city life, national politics,
along with the heat and humidity of Minneapolis summers.
As a big guy who sweats, Bob claime that is not built for summers here, in the "deep South." of the
Twin Cities.
With 147 first cousins, resulting from the marital bliss of 56 aunts and uncles, a big family with a dozen
or so children seemed to be in order for Bob, That was until a wise advisor told him, "Stop at two. Do
not let them outnumber you and your wife. Those fools at the capitol just might give kids the right to
vote!"
The perils of an active fatherhood lead Bob to reflect, "There are tears in your eyes when your children
are born, and your eyes mist over again as you watch them leave the house for the first day of school.
The next time you break down in an emotional heap is when you learn that they are all going to be
home for summer vacation!"
"I love my children, but I do not like being around them!"
