Pinot Noir and Grigio from Central Europe
18 Reasons Wednesday August 22nd, 7-9PM, Ticketed Pinot Noir and Grigio from Central Europe $40 member price; $50 general price
Join 18 Reasons and Eric Danch for a history and tasting of Pinot Noir and Pinto Grigio from Hungary, Slovenia and Austria.
Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio are two of the most famous and well known grape varieties in the world. They have also been planted, somewhat under the radar, in Slovenia, Hungary and Austria for hundreds of years. Since the fall of Iron Curtain and the end of Civil War in the Balkans, these wines are finally making their way to the United States. Come taste four different vintages, four unique Terroirs, and hear first hand stories about the winemakers and where they come from. They don't taste French, Italian or domestic because they shouldn't.
About Blue Danube: Blue Danube Wine Company focuses on wines from Hungary, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia and the renaissance of these ancient wine cultures. Our goal is to seek out up-and-coming exciting wines from small family owned wineries. Our winemakers combine old winemaking traditions and indigenous grape varietals typical of their regions to capture the unique flavor and character of the land they come from.
