Joseph A. Taylor, co-founder and president of the Tile Heritage Foundation, will trace the revolutionary development of decorative tile making in Southern California during the first quarter of the 20th century. Tiles and installations of major manufacturers will be examined and compared. Taylor was initiated into the world of tiles when he became a partner in McIntyre Tile Company in Healdsburg, California in the 1970s. He will share his years of research on the evolution of tile manufacturing in California and youll leave with confidence that youll know a Batchelder when you see one!
The hosted reception in The Pasadena Playhouse courtyard will begin at 6:00 pm followed by Taylor's lecture in the library with its stunning Batchelder fireplace.
