The Giving Tree Band
THE GIVING TREE BAND

Lead by enigmatic brothers Todd and "E" Fink, The Giving Tree Band are making their way to the head of a classy class of young American songwriters and performers. The Finks extended their brotherhood to all 7 members. Starting out with only a collective heart as big as the ocean, they now wield a wide array of instruments from acoustic and electric guitars, slide guitars and banjos to violin, mandolin and pedal steel . A band's band, they all live together, travel together and do everything as one family, harmonizing their voices and lives on and off stage. The Giving Tree Band is not reinventing but simply reuniting rock and roll. With their down-home style, they emphasize the virtue in their fierce virtuosity - approaching each note with integrity, each part with humility, each song with honesty and each show with gratitude. The most common word among reviews is "undeniable" in regards to the chemistry on stage, the energy in the room, and the feeling that something special is happening. With a rare combination of stirring musicianship and exemplary songwriting, the GTB wheel is in full spin and, like their adventure-heroes before them, it's also on fire.

The Giving Tree Band's third album The Joke, The Threat & The Obvious spent multiple weeks on various American radio charts (#15 on Roots Music Report and #39 on Americana Airplay Chart). The album also helped the band earn widespread acclaim and feature stories in popular music publications such as American Songwriter and Relix Magazine and described in Acoustic Guitar Magazine's "Best Albums Of 2010" as "harkening back to a wide swath of the classic rock pantheon - such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, the Grateful Dead, and The Beatles - but with a fuller sound featuring quasi-orchestral instrumentation." The summer of 2012 has the band touring the United States and Canada with celebrated songwriter Joe Purdy. The band's intense road schedule has included recent performances at major music fests such as SXSW, NXNE, Philly Folk Fest, Clearwater Fest, and Taste Of Chicago and at premier venues including the House Of Blues and the Kennedy Center. The group has shared the stage with dozens of top acts such as The Avett Brothers and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The GTB will release their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Vacilador, this October.

THE WHISKEY FARM

Jason is a singer/songwriter from Milwaukee. He started writing songs and playing guitar when he was a counselor at Camp Minikani, and his songs still have a hint of campfire in them. He began performing publicly while in college in Massachusetts, then returned home to Wisconsin and played the coffee shop circuit in Madison and Milwaukee. He then moved to Nashville and released his first studio album, Every Single Thing. After a move to Saint Paul, he fronted the folk rock band Cabin 18. He moved to Madison in 2008 and helped form the band now known as The Whiskey Farm.
