2016 MRKT BALL

In celebration of 130th birthday of Indianapolis City Markets historic Market House, Indianapolis City Market will host a family-friendly birthday party Nov. 4 and the 2016 MRKT Ball Benefit Gala Dec. 10!

On Dec. 10, Indianapolis City Market will host the 2016 MRKT BALL a revival of City Markets famed, To Market, To Market Ball. Featuring a Worlds Fair and Victorian-era steam punk theme - a tribute to the era of the establishment of the Market House in 1886 - the MRKT BALL is a black-tie or costumed gala benefitting Indianapolis City Market. Guests of the MRKT BALL will be able to stroll through the historic Market House and enjoy the captivating sounds of Indy's local favorite, Chamber Music Band Indy; savor delicious platters courtesy of Market House merchants; sample a special 130th birthday anniversary brew courtesy of Sun King Brewing Company; toast to the market with cocktails courtesy of Wilks & Wilson and hard soda provided by Garden Party Botanical Hard Soda; shop the Handmade Promenade artisan craft market; play carnival-style games and so much more! A variety of performances, activities and other events will continue in the Market House throughout the duration of the evening.

Local professionals, leaders, supporters and families with long-standing ties to the Market House are expected to gather for the event. Market officials will honor the extraordinary 94-year-old Santa Bayt, a former City Market fixture with multi-generational ties to the Market House.

The VIP component features access to the City-County Buildings observation deck the night of the event, a cocktail reception in the YMCA and the unvieling of the winning design of the 2016 MRKT BALL poster design competition.
