50th Anniversary of the Beatles' Revolver Album-Revisited! - Saturday
In 1966 The Beatles released their ground-breaking album Revolver. Revolver was a clear signal that the band was embarking on major new chapter in their career and that the studio album was now their primary art form. Revolver's immense variety of musical styles, innovative production techniques, masterful songwriting, and inspired performances, together, created a powerful work which the band had no intention of performing live on the raucous concerts that had become their hallmark to that point.
This year, on the weekend after Thansgiving, in celebration of the lasting infuence the album has had on countless generations of musicians, five members of the Baton Rouge music community come together to give an intimate and unique live performance of Revolver in its entirety. Also included on this 50th anniversary performance will be a selection songs from other 1966 Beatles releases in either US or UK.
Bringing Revolver to life at Dyson House Listening Room will be Chris Hochkeppel (Burris), Lee Barbier (The Myrtles, Girl Scout Heroin), Ben Herrington, Micah Blouin, and Peter Simón (Minos the Saint).
Show times will be:
Saturday, November 26th at 7pm
Sunday, November 27th at 3pm
Seating is limited. Tickets are $18 in advance at brownpapertickets.com or $20 at the door, if available.
