Totally Thames: Light Up The Ladies Bridge Human Chain
We are excited to announce that this Saturday as part of the Light Up The Ladies Bridge celebrations we will be creating a human chain across Waterloo Bridge aka the Ladies Bridge - and we need you!
Concrete History and Karen Livesey present three evenings of live performances, films and large scale photographic projections on the National Theatre's fly tower showcasing the trail-blazing female construction workers who rebuilt the bridge during World War II from Thursday 22 - Saturday 24 September.
On Saturday 24 September from 6pm we will mark the recently unearthed rich history with the formation of a human chain across Waterloo bridge to light up the Ladies Bridge! If you want to pay homage to these pioneering and inspiring women and be part of the celebrations then we want to hear from you - register now here!
You are asked to join us at 6pm for a briefing for the evening's activities and will finish around 8pm. We encourage you to adopt the style of dress of the construction workers of the Second World War (boiler suits and dungarees)!
