Bigger Than a Breadbox Theatre Co. is proud to present LANDSCAPE OF THE BODY, its inaugural production, in August 2012 and invites you to attend!
LANDSCAPE OF THE BODY, John Guare's vibrant and unsettling poetic portrait of the untold American experience, follows the turbulent journey of single mother Betty as she navigates raising a child and rebuilding her own identity on the seediest street of New York City's Greenwich Village circa 1974. A cast of desperately eccentric characters comprises the ensemble of a radical community and, amidst a landscape of destruction and loss, this production explores the permeability of the division between life and death, the way that we shape-shift in order to realize our dreams, and the ultimate sustainability of the relationships that we cultivate in the time that we have. In creating the world of the play, episodic in nature and narrated with vaudevillian musicality and crude wisdom, this production employs innovative aesthetic storytelling and intimate audience-performer connection.
This production is directed by Ariel Craft, stage managed by Laura Fox, and features the design talents of Jessica O'Hearn and Andrea Bergen.
This production features the acting talents of Nicolina Akraboff, Gina Alvarado*, A.J. Ditty, Dion Hobdy, Tomas Moreno-Johnson, Brennan Pickman-Thoon, Mia Romero, Adam Roy, and Alessandra Varsano.
