Hailed by The Washington Post as one of the "funniest women in comedy" and from the New York Times, "...she's particularly good at making her points and making us feel clever. Most important, she's just plain funny, physically and verbally." Lauren Weedman will be returning to Portland after her successful run of BUST in 2011 at Portland Center Stage with her 7th solo show NO...YOU SHUTUP.
Tattoos, insane families and demons from the past haunt Lauren Weedman's darkly humorous solo show "No...You Shutup". Lauren takes the stage with incisive observations, dead on characterizations and laugh-out-loud stories that always manage to boomerang around back to nail the teller of the tale. In this show, Lauren's quest for family leads her to the most challenging situation she could find herself in: falling in love with a widower and his teen age son. Let the drama begin.

MORE PRAISE FOR WEEDMAN
"The neuroses on display here are universal, and Weedman proves to be a witty ambassador of Pacific values, even as she trains a microscope on her own comically tortured mind." WASHINGTON POST
"It's a thrill to watch her zip through her story like a stunt driver weaving through rush hour. If charisma were fossil fuel, her carbon footprint would look like Godzilla's. You cannot take your eyes off her." SEATTLE WEEKLY
Comedian Lauren Weedman is a master of expressing a kind of self-loathing that is so acute and so dense that it sucks all other feelings down into it -- a black hole of emotion that spits out X-rays of the human condition." LA WEEKLY
"The only problem with Lauren Weedman shows is that they're too short. (How often do you hear that complaint about autobiographical solo theater?)" THE STRANGER, SEATTLE
