Syd Straw House Concert:
Roots Hoot House Concerts welcomes back luminous singer Syd Straw on Saturday, December 3. A singer's singer, in addition to her work with The Golden Palominos and her terrific solo albums, Syd's superb voice has graced recordings by folks like Dave Alvin, Rickie Lee Jones, Matthew Sweet, Wayne Kramer, REM, Jeff Tweedy, Wilco, Richard Buckner,Leo Kottke, Loudon Wainwright III, Vic Chesnutt, James McMurtry, The Del Lords, Freedy Johnston, David Halley, Marc Ribot, The Schramms, Kevin Salem, and that's just scratching the surface. She played her VERY FIRST house concert here a decade ago in November of 2006 she's plenty excited about coming back. And so are we! Doors will open at 7:00 pm and music starts at 7:30 pm. It is BYOB and possibly a "lite bite" potluck. News on the latter forthcoming.
