Short Stories Live: Contemporary Women
Spend Mother's Day afternoon with local actors reading stories about modern American life by three acclaimed female writers. Eudora Weltys "A Worn Path" an uplifting story about a grandmother, considered one of the best examples of the short story master's work. ACT favorite Leslie Law reads. Deborah Eisenberg's "The Flaw in the Design," a dark story about a mother which deals with the confusion of modern life in the post-9/11 era is read by Priscilla Hake Lauris. And Melissa Banks' smart and funny collection, A Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing, chronicles a young women's search for love. Gretchen Krich reads "My Old Man." Kurt Beattie, Artistic Director of ACT Theatre, directs and hosts.
