Confessions of the World's Worst Missionary
A naive college girl goes on a missions trip to Africa to save the world, only to discover her faith is no match for the heartbreaking reality of poverty, HIV/AIDS, and myriad of crises of the post-apartheid era. This is a quick-witted, snarky and heartfelt comedy performed with a Tina Fey-style dry sarcasm. "Ms. Alfinito offers a refreshing, honest look at what happens when one's spiritual journey runs head-on into insoluble issues like racism, poverty and disease." -- Susan E. Isaacs, Actor and Author of Angry Conversations with God
Lina Alfinito is currently the Associate Artistic Director for the Azusa Pacific University Fringe Festival. Her love for theatre branches well beyond performance and into other areas such as writing, producing, directing, and management. "Confessions of the World's Worst Missionary" is Alfinito's first solo show and stems completely from real life mission experiences in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
