Latino Comedy Jam
The Cultural Comedy Jam series showcases some of the top breakout comedians sharing their humor from a unique cultural perspective, whether it is racial, sexual or social cultures. Through laughter you will discover we are all more alike than different. The first show in the series features Latino headline comedians Cisco, Aida Rodiguez and Rick Pulido. CISCO has been referred to as EDGY, REAL and a MUST SEE performer that can go from 0 to funny in a matter of nanoseconds. His electrifying show is full of non-stop laughs with material about true life events which he portrays with his natural talent and maximum funny. Cisco has been praised for his ability to perform in front of diverse audiences, enabling him to travel to several countries around the world. The one common opinion shared by all in attendance, is that "He is REALLY funny!"
Cisco, of Mexican heritage, takes great pride in being a "Latino Comedian", but would rather be called "best comedian" or "funniest comedian" first. "I work hard and it doesn't do me justice to be labeled as simply just a Latino comic. I can make anyone laugh without a doubt."
Cisco appeared in the Award Winning "Bad Habits" commercial for Tecate Light Beer and recently wrote, produced and starred in his own sketch comedy show called "CISCOLUTION!" The show is set to release in 2012 on the CISCOLUTION YouTube Channel.
Cisco is most proud of becoming a paid regular at 3 of the major comedy clubs in the country (Comedy Store, Improv & Laugh Factory), and having his name put on the "Wall of Fame" at the Comedy Store, amongst comedy legends.
You can listen to Cisco each weekday morning, 8 to 11am PST as the host on Playboy Radio en EspaƱol, SiriusXM 569 (Satellite Radio) or online http://siriusxm.com/PlayboyRadioEnEspanol.
Rick Pulido Rick Pulido, comedian, has appeared on various TV shows as Comedy Central, HBO. Que Locos, PBS and more. He's written for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Rick looks at life and turns it upside down like the lens on a camera and people laugh. His words are amplified with inflections, sound effects and animated body and facial contractions. As a great American trapped in a Mexican body, he'll tear you with laughter through the confusion of his Texas and Mexican accents. He has the honesty of Richard Pryor, the art of Bill Cosby and the tenacity of George Carlin.
Aida Rodriguez Aida Rodriguez is the face of Comedy that hails from the multi-cultural enclave of Miami, this Puerto Rican/Dominican/Cuban talent single-handedly represents the entire Spanish speaking Caribbean. Wowing audiences on the Hollywood scene with her regular appearances at The Improv, Laugh Factory, Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in Los Angeles, Aida has toured the nation and performed with such heavyweights as Russell Peters, Damon Wayans, Chris Rock, and Paul Rodriguez. If writing jokes isn't enough, this infinite threat has taken her pen to the stage with her One Woman Show Digga$, which she co-wrote with Gary Hardwick (Deliver us From Eva, The Brothers), Digga$ has been adapted for the screen. Aida can also be seen in the movies: Image Entertainment's "The Greatest Song" which she wrote, produced and co-starred in with Lamman Rucker (Why Did I Get Married, Meet The Browns) and in the comedy "Bushwacked" with Gary Busey and Lee Majors which will be released in the Spring of 2010. Aida was one of five on an all female USO tour in Korea in 2008 and returned to Japan in summer of 09 to entertain our troops as the only woman. She just completed her military duty as a joke teller for an encore performance in Korea in this summer. Aida was the only Latina on BET's Comic View: One Mic Stand with Kevin Hart and is the host of Manic Minute Meals: A Bilingual Comedy Cooking Series. Her comedy is a colorful splash in the bland world of affairs, as she is unafraid to tackle all issues from her own battle with Anorexia to the fight against Child Abuse. Aida has performed for everyone from women in prison to members of Senate, she's been known to give you a good roast, in and out of the kitchen! Look for Aida on season 2 of Latino 101 on SiTV.
