The Piggies w/ The Jimi Austin and Away from Nothing
Originating in the city of Fort Collins, the four-piece alternative rock ensemble known as The Piggies, has recently emerged into the venues of the front-range area. Whether showcasing original songs from their debut album Overrated, or filling an evening with a combination of covers and originals, The Piggies are ready for your love and affection! The band has opened for the likes of Ted Nugent, The Guess Who, MC Chris (Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, and has performed as a backing band for Cracker co-founder Johnny Hickman. Behind the unstoppable wall of sound, the deepest influences of the band lie in alternative and grunge rock. The music adopts a variety of contemporary flavors that might remind one of bands such as Beck, The Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, or Nine Inch Nails. The apparatus consists of four moving parts: Jason Larson on guitar/ lead vocals, Daniel Giltinan a.k.a. Danny G on guitar/backing vocals, Brian Weikel on bass guitar/backing vocals, and Stacy Adams on drums.
