The Ratcatcher
THE RATCATCHER - EXTENDED for 2 performances! December 20 & 21 @ 8 p.m.
an original adaptation of the legend of the Pied Piper in song, verse and pancakes.
What do you get when you put together an experimental theater troupe, a savage band . . . and a folktale?
RATCATCHER is what! The Imaginists, in unholy union with The Crux, will dance you down to Hamelin Town, rats, drowned children and all. Protean actors play rodents, wraiths, blind and blindered children, and an old-boy oligarchy with a dangerous secret. Meanwhile, musicians rhapsodize with accordion, fiddle, pipe organ(!), guitar, sax, drums, and morenot to mention the Piper himself (Who is he, really?): they reveal in song our protagonists' hidden hearts.
Yes, the Town of Hamelin is having a big celebration, and YOU are invited! It's the millionth commemorative banquet of that happy long-ago event when all the rats went bye-bye and the childrenwell, never mind them. Never mind themor else . . . !
