If Being Made It So
If Being Made it So A Living Immersive Performance Project Direction by Megan Pitcher Performance by Allison Anich, Angela Luam, Caitlin Rafferty, Megan Pitcher & Kelly Skala Performance on Friday, July 27th at 7:30pm at Columbia College, Raw Space 1104 S Wabash, Room 205
The act of moving, listening and contributing is practiced in private rehearsals and open showings. Each gathering is precipitated by a prompt that encourages openness, honesty, daring or compassion. The resulting experiences include loosely structured movement, with indeterminate results. The project foolishly, but hopefully asserts that how we embody a space does energetically shape that dwelling and all those who venture therein. Together, audience and performers develop an agreement of boundaries and time. The performance reveals how our lives can be dictated by those elements, while making space for a plausible alternative. These experiences are being documented in writings, photos, videos and audio recordings. They will be compiled into an accompanying artist book and made available for those interested in repeating similar experiments. Presented in the Chicago Arts District 2nd Fridays (2012) and at Columbia College Chicago (2012).
