Acid Tongue (Guy Keltner Solo Set) + Maiah Manser (Solo Set)
Doors 730 Show 8 All Ages
Acid Tongue is an American-bred garage band heavily influenced by AM-radio soul, folk and psychedelic rock. The band is composed of Guy Keltner, Ian Cunningham, & Jacob Rose - perverted in their youth by adolescent exposure to mind-altering substances and strange, spiritually-driven parenting techniques. After years of extensive traveling throughout the United States, as well as some experimental therapy in a Mexican yurt, the boys have united to produce their take on the music of their parents' generation. Incorporating imagery of the afterlife, dream-states and drifter-culture, Acid Tongue seeks to enlighten listeners to their swingin, contemplative lifestyle.
Noir-pop, Seattle-based burgeoning singer Maiah Mansers new single Second Skin arrives on the 21st October via Freakout Records. Second Skin was produced by Buddy Ross (Frank Ocean), mastered by Tom Coyne (Adele, Beyonce, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber) and features string arrangements by Phillip Peterson (Cashmere Cat, Maroon 5, A$AP Rocky ft. Florence and the Machine, Santigold). Having toured as a vocalist with Mary Lambert, Maiah shared stage with the likes of Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams, Meghan Trainor, & Sam Smith and performed on Jay Lenos Tonight Show and VH1s You Oughta Know. This year alone, Maiah has been featured on tracks with Manatee Commune & IG88; composed & produced a 15-minute piece for Los Angeles dance group The TL Collective which was toured in Germany; and just performed a collection of her original songs at the St. Mark's Cathedral in Seattle while conducting a six-piece a capella choir. Maiah has recently opened shows for bands such as How to Dress Well, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Tesla Boy and performed at Seattles Capitol Hill Block Party and Bumbershoot festivals, garnering support from KEXP, Spin, Time Out New York, Revolt TV amongst others along the way. In the six years since Maiah Manser first moved to Seattle and began attending Cornish College of the Arts, she has gained notoriety as a "powerhouse vocalist" and an "art show that sings". Beginning her first show as a 2013 EMP Sound Off! Competition finalist. Influenced by artists such as Kate Bush, Bjork, Nina Simone, Sadé, Fiona Apple, FKA Twigs, Radiohead, Michel LeGrand, Debussy, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Frank Ocean, Maiah Mansers brooding noir-pop seduces with its powerful vocals and enveloping production. In an effort to mimic the world we live in today, Maiah newest delivery strives to sonically bridge the gap between the digital vs. organic world.
