Synopsis "The Trojan Women" is a Greek tragedy written by the playwright Euripides during the Peloponnesian War. It was first presented to the city of Dionysia in 415 B.C., and was considered a commentary on the capture of the Aegean island. The play follows the fates of four women of Troy after their city has been ransacked by the Athenians leaving them without their husbands and other family members.
