Richard Sussman Quintet CD Release Party, Performing Music From The Evolution Suite
Long acknowledged as an accomplished and innovative jazz pianist, arranger, composer, and educator, with a long list of credits, Richard Sussman has been passionately exploring the inner and outer frontiers of contemporary musical expression throughout his entire career. His ground-breaking Evolution Suite for Jazz Quintet, String Quartet, and Electronics, was funded by a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Grant, and had its World Premier right here at the Union Arts Center on Dec. 20, 2015. It is now available on CD and for Digital Download on Zoho Records. This performance presents special arrangements of The Evolution Suite for Sussmans core quintet, featuring some of the finest jazz improvisers on the planet.
